The Party of Regions

Founded by Yanukovych’s closest ally, Eduard Pruntik, “Expert-analytical centre Society”, should be pointed out among organizations that worked with the Party of Regions.

Ex-PR director of INTER TV channel, Ihor Chaban also worked with Yanukovych.

In general, Yanukovych’s pre-election campaign was guided by American spin doctors.

Their names were known already before the elections and their role became apparent when on the night of March 27, the head of staff of PR, Vasyl Dzharty, in UP correspondent’s sight, after the press conference signaled Americans he had never deviated from their advice.

American Paul Manafort, the founder of "Davis Manafort & Freeman, Inc" and "Black, Manafort, Stone, and Kelly" played a key role in the pre-election campaign. These organizations are not very picky in the clients – they helped regimes in Nigeria, Philippines, Zaire and Angola.

Robert Doll, ex-advisor of House of Representatives speaker Newt Gingrich, and formerly one of the consultants of International Republican Institute, was also involved in Yanukovych’s campaign.

Rinat Akhmetov took up a very wise decision hiring advisors both for himself and Yanukovych. Mr. Manafort was always by Shakhtar’s president as his temporary residence was in Donbas-Palace hotel.

People from "Ogilvy & Mather" and "Burson-Marsteller" (associated company of Manafort’s "Black, Manafort, Stone, and Kelly") also collaborated with Yanukovych’s staff.

Since Akhmetov wanted to come into public life rather graciously he hired advisor of Mikhail Khodorkovsky who had been working with Russian prisoner-billionaire for 8 years.
